Kairos: The most popular overnight retreat, this four-day, three-night experience takes students to the Jesuit Retreat House in Parma to enjoy “God’s time.” Each day asks a question about the student’s relationship with Jesus and seeks to help students begin answering those questions. Saint Ignatius has run more than 200 Kairos retreats. Kairos retreat letters are letters of encouragement written by family friends or anyone who has a relationship with a student who has gone on a kairos spiritual retreat. Kairos, adapted to mean "God's time", is a Christian, Ignatian retreat program for high school and college students that began in Jesuit schools in Ohio, but, now, takes place around the world.The retreat is an intense few days, usually during a long weekend, that provide participants the chance to contemplate on God's role in their lives. Retreats provide important opportunities to pause, step back, reflect, and be refreshed.
The point of Kairos is basically to help strip away all prior judgement from the people they are surrounded by on a daily basis. They put these students in a setting, where by the end of the retreat, they can feel comfortable enough to openly talk to the people they are with without being judged or looked down upon.
The registration fee for most retreats is $75. Some retreats are offered at the Scholarships.

This is a three-day, two-night retreat, held at the Jesuit Retreat House in Parma, and led by senior leaders. It is a powerful experience, and forms our students to be empathetic, spiritually aware leaders in our school and in the world. A retreat more than 20 years old at Rockhurst High School, with a rich tradition, the Kairos Retreat is a three day experience of Christian community and sacraments. Kairos translate to “God’s time” and it is here where the student is led to listen to the ways in which God has been working in his life through his loved ones, friends and lived experiences.
All the students who have attended the Kairos retreat have taken a personal oath of confidentiality from exposing specific events of Kairos.
